First Meeting Under New Leadership

New Leadership, New Events, New Era
On March 4, 2024, the Asian American Youth Alliance (AAYA) had their first meeting under new leadership and new members. With previous leaders departing for college, a new phase of AAYA is just getting started, led by president Hoon Jung, vice president Brandon Park, and creative director Jay Lim. In this first meeting under new leadership and new members, AAYA’s purpose and values were at the core of emphasis, instilling our mission in “empowering Asian-American youths to engage with their community in a productive and meaningful manner.” At a time of change, AAYA’s mission remains forefront, and to ensure that our new members share the same vision, our leaders emphasized AAYA’s focus and priorities.
While the organization’s focus has remained the same, our new leaders and members had several ideas for future projects and events. One such event that was discussed was a partnership with the Brightview Senior Living Center in Tenafly where our members will be hosting tech tutoring events and providing one on one sessions to assist the elderly. Currently, this event is being held every month, and future events and projects are constantly being drawn up at our monthly meetings.
