AAYA Becomes Certifying Organization of the Presidential Volunteering Award

By: Jack Dong

The Presidential Volunteer Service Award is a recognition of outstanding volunteer contributions in community service to the United States

On March 21st, 2024, AAYA became a certifying organization of the Presidential Volunteering Award. Previously, AAYA was only a 501(c) certified organization, a nonprofit organization operating for charitable purposes, and exempt from taxes. However, with this new certification, AAYA can now give out presidential volunteer awards to volunteers who have dedicated hundreds of hours. For volunteers 15 and under, those with 50-74 hours can receive the Bronze Presidential Volunteer Service Award, those with 75-99 hours can receive the silver, and those with 100+ hours can receive the gold. For volunteers 16 and older, those with 100-174 hours can receive the bronze, those with 175-249 can receive the silver, and those with 250+ can receive the gold. With several more events coming, AAYA is excited to be a certified organization and begin giving out such awards to its members.
