Asian American Youth Alliance (AAYA) is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering high school youth of all backgrounds to build intergenerational connections within their communities in productive, meaningful ways. Our mission is to create a space where young people can engage with and learn from older generations, sharing experiences and perspectives that enrich lives and bridge generational gaps.
AAYA started as a small group of friends united by a shared vision: to make a positive impact in our community. Initially, we focused on connecting with and supporting Asian American elders, learning invaluable lessons from their life experiences. As we grew, however, we realized that fostering intergenerational communities shouldn't be limited by cultural background. Building a community meant reaching out to people of all races, to create a network where everyone could contribute, learn, and feel valued.
Today, AAYA remains committed to its roots, while embracing the diversity that makes our community strong. Through volunteering programs, collaborative projects, and events, we empower high school students to form connections that cross generational lines. By doing so, we aim to create a lasting impact, fostering understanding, respect, and unity across ages and backgrounds.
Join us in building a community that connects, learns, and grows together.
