What is a Youth Ambassador?

The AAYA 100+ Hour Summer Program @ Fox Trail Memory Care Center will assign a Youth Ambassador for each of Fox Trail’s numerous residencies. Youth ambassadors are leaders in AAYA’s 100+ Hour Summer Volunteer Program at Fox Trail Memory Care Centers. These leaders serve as intermediaries between volunteers and the heads of the program, AAYA’s president Hoon and Fox Trail’s Regional Director, Program Development, and Strategic Partnerships Chelsea. In addition to the duties that all volunteers will have, Youth Ambassadors will be attending weekly meetings via Zoom on Saturdays from 9AM-10AM and planning activities for the residents. In exchange for the extra effort, leaders will receive 10 extra hours of volunteer hour service as they plan and prep for each week, and will also be viewed favorably during considerations for officer positions at AAYA. All communication is done through these youth ambassadors, who either relay the information to the heads or their volunteers. Some of these youth ambassadors are heading more than 20 volunteers in their community! Additionally, they put in extra hours to help organize the volunteers and plan events. Without these youth ambassadors, the program would not run be able to run smoothly.
